Hospital Hospitality House Opens HHH Offsite Location!
When a community needs assessment conducted by the University of Tennessee College Of Social Work revealed that Nashville is, at a minimum, 130 rooms short of meeting the need for medical lodging, HHH began exploring both short and long-term plans for expansion.
Because of your overwhelming generosity, HHH has entered into a relationship with a local, extended stay hotel. Called HHH Offsite Location, this expansion plan doubles our capacity, allowing us to serve twenty families per night (not to mention those we serve through waiting room adoption and day services).
“The generosity of our donors and volunteers is really letting us get creative about meeting the overwhelming need for medical housing,” said Nancy Denning-Martin, HHH Executive Director. “Just imagining the families who will find what they need because of this short-term solution motivates us to work even harder toward our long-term goals.”
The referral process, requiring a hospital social worker, patient affairs representative or nurse case manger referral, remains the same. After registering at the 214 Reidhurst location, guests of the HHH Offsite Location then check in at the hotel where they find a comfortable room with a private bath and a small kitchenette. HHH Offsite Location guests are encouraged to enjoy meals, laundry facilities, internet access and camaraderie at our main site. Most guests take advantage of this option, finding the same sense of family and support as those guests staying in the main house.
