Health Insurance 101

On Wednesday, February 28 at 6:00 pm in the Hospital Hospitality House (HHH) Conference Room, Brenda Mosley, Insurance Management Manager for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics, will present “Health Insurance 101,” the first program in HHH’s 2007 free community education series.
This program will explore topics related to health insurance, including tips for how to most effectively manage and utilize your health insurance benefits, how to learn about your health insurance plan, and who to talk to you if you have questions or concerns about your coverage. Our presenter will also offer information about Medicare, the new Part D prescription coverage, as well as the regulations and criteria that must be met to qualify for SSI and Disability programs and how to go about enrolling for these benefits. Following the presentation, there will be a brief period for questions and answers.
The Hospital Hospitality House community education series seeks to provide patients and families with important and relevant information that will help them more effectively navigate the medical system.
About the Presenter:
Brenda has worked at Vanderbilt University Hospital over the past 36 years. In her time with the medical center, she has worked in a variety of capacities related to utilization management and financial counseling. Now manager of the insurance verification department of Utilization Management, Brenda oversees insurance verification, preadmission and precertification activities and the financial counseling department.
